God’s Majesty

Beginnings…

On the second day

I made the sky and pulled back

the waters from it.

But on the sixth day

I made them, man and woman.

And the serpent crawled!

Instruction…

Lord, who can teach You?

Can any being on earth?

Can any instruct?

Do You hunt advice?

From whom would You seek counsel?

Which soul could lead God?

Praise Him…(Psalm 103)

Posted on Updated on

He has established His kingdom in the heavens

And has shown us but a portion of His powerful abilities

Yes, He is to be praised among all the world.

Raise your voices to the Almighty, call out His name

You who live all about His dominion and do His bidding

Yes, He is to be praised among all the world.

Bow low before the Lord of Lords and set your mind on Him

For the works of His hand show He is the one Almighty Being

Yes, He is to be praised among all the world.

For the Lord’s love is with those who respect Him

And with all who keep His commandments in their hearts

Yes, He is to be praised among all the world.

I dreamed I had an INTERVIEW WITH GOD.

“So, you would like to interview me?” GOD asked.

“If you have time,” I said.

GOD smiled. “My time is eternity… what questions do you have in mind for me?”

“What surprises you the most about humankind?”

GOD answered…

“That they get bored with childhood, that they rush to grow up, and then long to be children again.”

“That they lose their health to make money… and then lose their money to restore their health.”

“That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor the future.”

“That they live as if they would never die, and die as though they had never lived.”

GOD’s hand took mine… and we were silent for a while.

And then I asked, “As a parent, what are some of life’s lessons you want your children to learn?”

GOD replied, “To learn they cannot make anyone love them. All they can do is let themselves be loved.”

“To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others.”

“To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.”

“To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love, and it can take many years to heal them.”

“To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.”

“To learn that there are people who love them dearly, but simply do not yet know how to express or show their feelings.”

“To learn that two people can look at the same thing, and see it differently.”

“To learn that it is not enough that they forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves.”

“Thank you for your time,” I said humbly.

“Is there anything else you would like your children to know?”

GOD smiled, and said… “Just know that I am here. Always.”

Once…

Once there was a time

when man’s thoughts were pure evil,

his heart lost in this.

Forty days it rained;

only eight were saved on earth.

I promise…no more!

Be Persistent!

Posted on Updated on

Good reading from Lilka! Steve

B is for Blessed!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, Hebrews 12:1 NIV

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. Luke 18:1 NIV

Persistence is something we must each embrace if we are going to obtain the very best God has for us. Each of us is called to finish our race. There will be trials and obstacles, distractions and pitfalls but we must push through if we are ever to reach the prize that awaits us at the end.

Persistence often separates those who could from those who would.

You don’t always have to be the most “qualified.” Sometimes all it takes to get ahead is showing up and…
