Dearest Lord, God and Father over all, I praise your name as great!
I call on you this day to keep, love, and protect us and our families. Put the hedge of protection around us if it be your will, and bring us the blessings of goodness and comfort that only you can give…
Let us ask a blessing on the members of your church. Tend to the needs of your children around the world, as you know them all, worldly and spiritually. Help keep us focused on our goal in this life, which is to see you in your glory in eternal life. For we can take pride in just one thing, that we are blessed with grace for our sins in your Son, Jesus Christ.
Lord, this world has always been evil, and it continues to be so each day. We pray for those who do not know you, or care to follow your commands. May they be touched in some way by your love and have a change of heart. Help them to turn from the evil of this world and the hopelessness and futility of living without you each day.
At this time, our thoughts turn to the men and women who have dedicated themselves to fighting in the armed forces. Each day, they are placed in positions of fighting in one way or another to keep America’s freedoms in place, and we do appreciate their efforts. May we honor them and their service, but even more so, may you bless those who fight with such noble cause.
Father, let us turn now from freedom’s fighters to those who battle the wars of the spiritual realm…to each of us who fight personal and public battles as we stand up for you. May we do so with conviction and effectiveness. May we liberate souls from sin and bring them to you for the cleansing which is only available through the blood of Christ.
Dear Lord, tomorrow is Father’s Day, a time when we honor earthly men who have the love and care for children of all ages. May they teach their sons and daughters the meaning of life through Godly principles. We ask a special blessing on them, not only for tomorrow, but for every day, as parenting is a lifetime commitment.
Finally, we ask that Christians everywhere set good examples by worshiping you in your house tomorrow, which is the first day of the week. May the church realize that fellowship with other Christians is what you have commanded, and that the breaking of bread, prayer, and study of your word together on Sundays is your will for us.
Thank you Lord God for your blessings of life and may you continue to be with us as we live our lives here by your grace, in reverent respect for you and all others. Forgive us our many sins, as we strive to do more of your will and less of our own.
For this is our prayer in the name of Christ Jesus…Amen!
