Power Outage…

Well, it seems if it’s not one thing, it’s another! For those of you who read my blog somewhat regularly, you know I have had some family difficulties and health issues to deal with. At times, these have interrupted my blogging schedule during the past several weeks.

Today, I am dealing with a power outage in my little neighborhood! So I won’t be able to do my regular posts nor reply to comments today. I hope, with the Lord’s help, to be able to be back in the next day or two.

Until then, I would so appreciate your understanding…again! I do have over 600 posts on my site you can browse and look at if you’d like. Don’t give up on me, I will by God grace be back in a day or two, as I’ve said.

Thank you so much for reading and commenting at my site!

Steve

I understand, Steve! 😊 We lost our power twice in the last three weeks due to a fallen tree and storms, and they weren’t off long, thankfully; only about 6 – 8 hours. I hope your power is restored soon! πŸ™‚

Wow, you guys need to get those power lines underground! When do the storms stop? Glad you got your power back so soon. Ours is back now. The park community we live in is having solar panels installed. I guess you could say power outages are an “on and off” problem!…Lol.

Underground? Haha, I don’t think I’ve ever seen power lines underground, but that is a great idea. πŸ˜€ Are yours underground?

Haha, I don’t know; we just had another round of storms last night! XD

I’m glad your electricity is back on! πŸ™‚ Oohhh, solar panels? How neat!

      LOL! πŸ˜‚

Some power lines are installed underground, mostly in the urban areas. But it is not too common as of yet. Changing to underground wiring is like trying to keep up with doing all the repairs needed on the freeway systems in Los Angeles…a tremendously impossible job to fathom, Lol. Yeah, all of the environmentalists are constantly trying to get things changed over for sun and wind power especially in California…

Ooohhhh, I see. But that is a pretty great idea; it’s less likely that it will go out since it probably won’t be crushed or hit. LOL, yeah, it could take a while!

That’s cool though, to not have to rely on electricity. However, if there is no sun or wind, then you don’t have power, lol. XD

Well, I’m not “on board” with all of the alternative power ideas the ecologists have. I like electricity. But people are working on ways to have even slight wind and light sun extract enough energy to get us power. But all of that is several years off i believe.

I’m not either, but I think that it’s kind of fascinating. It might be nice to have if the electricity went out, because at least you’d have a chance to have some energy source. πŸ™‚ However, I agree that it’ll be years before they make much progress with it.

Yes…they found that those big wind fans they were using at first were killing birds that ran into them. Well, that’s just not acceptable to them. So that’s why they are coming up with a newer, light-weight fan version. One step forward, two steps back…

Oh my. o_O Couldn’t they keep the original design but somehow put a screen around the blades like a household fan would have? I don’t see how making it light-weight would stop birds from running into them…

      Yeah. 😜

I like your idea much better, Grace! Their idea involves a completely new design of fan, lower to the ground but still exposed, and they had to redesign it so it would turn in a whisper of breeze…lots of work, and probably money!

Oh those ecologists! Always messing around with everything. They may have some good ideas here and there, but they can make a mess of things too!

I know that a number of them mean well, but you know what is said about “good intentions.” Some are afraid that man will destroy the earth…that is not for man to do but God. And He will do so by fire on the last day in righteous judgment!

      Oh yes, definitely. πŸ™‚

If it wasn’t written that He will do it by fire on the last day, it wouldn’t surprise me if man did eventually – just not by “global warming.” But yes, it is for God to do, not man! πŸ™‚

Thanks, Laura. The lights are back on for now. We live in a park community and they are installing solar panels at the club house. Occasionally they need to turn of the power to make new connections to the panels. The power could go off again during future installations…

Amen to that! But it is frustrating when it happens. Even with a couple of days notice, it still is an unwelcome interruption! Oh well, I just live with it and move on.
