Well…sharing a bit from another email from my friend Paul. He’s always writing to encourage, build-up, and uplift all the brothers and sisters in Christ. Here’s a part of his latest communication…
“Thanksgiving has passed, but thanksgiving is never gone. As Christians we need to be constantly giving thanks.
“…always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Ephesians 5:20
Giving thanks is the essence of Christianity. When we praise God, is it not thanking God for what he has done or will do? When we submit ourselves to Christ in believing baptism is it not submission to God based upon our understanding and thankfulness to God for saving our sins? Can we praise God without being thankful?
When our children were little and they prayed, we braced ourselves for a long prayer. “Thank you God for Mommy and Daddy, for the dog and for the kitty, for the house and for the doors, for the plate and the food and the spoon and the fork and the table and the floor…” They have the right idea. Thank God for everything, all the time.
‘Count your many blessings see what God has done.’ “
