“Geobeats” reports that the Daylight Saving Time Coalition gave an example of economic benefit to a Congressional Testimony. (They) said that Daylight Saving Time resulted in an increase of the consumption of French Fries. How can you argue against Daylight Saving Time anymore?
There are a lot of things in our life…(over which)…we have no control. The best thing to do is to make adjustments. For example: the Kingdom of God is a spiritual kingdom, but it exists here on earth. We call it the “church”. The church, although spiritual, needs physical items. So we have weekly gatherings to encourage each other, engage in spiritual development and to contribute financially. We can choose to participate or not. Making a financial contribution is not a salvation issue but necessary. It is more a reflection of dedication and faith. Jesus had very little money but he often asked people to give generously. Letting go of money is an act of faith.
Today we are asking members of a very generous congregation to dig deeper. God is going to accomplish his purposes whether we give or not. It is kinda like Daylight Saving Time: It may take some time for you to get over the adjustment. You will. But I am not promising any French Fries.
“Jesus answered, ‘If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.’” Matthew 19:21
