1 The fool says in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and their ways are vile;
there is no one who does good.
2 God looks down from heaven
on all mankind
to see if there are any who understand,
any who seek God.
3 Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt;
there is no one who does good,
not even one.
Boy doesn’t this type of thinking seem to be taking stronger hold in our world today!
In fact, it seems as if we can understand and sympathize with our Lord when we read the words found in (Luke 18:8) where it says:
Well, of course He will as long as there are those who remain faithful to the Savior and His church. And the scriptures tell us there will be some of us left, no matter how bad this world gets.
Nevertheless, they will be few in comparison to those who have either lost their faith, or failed to ever come to it in the first place. And that is a sad thought indeed!
However, such a situation as this is almost incomprehensible to me.
For all that the Father has done to provide for us in every way…to reject Him so completely is a vile and obscene gesture in my estimation!
He made provisions to save our souls when we could not keep the law of God. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, as a propitiation for our sins, to die a horrible death on the cross to spare us a spiritual death.
And we would DARE to reject His loving gift in every way? We owe the Lord God our very lives, we owe Him everything and even more than that!
Still there are and will always be those who will stand without Christ in their lives. All that can be done is two things: (1) Make sure we keep ourselves from becoming caught up and polluted by the sinfulness of this world, and (2) pray for those who are living in sin.
Prayer: Dear Father in heaven, may we approach your throne of grace with humble respect and ask that you hear this prayer. It is made on behalf of all those who have hardened their hearts to you and your love. May you enter their lives, if it is your will, and guide them to you before the Son returns to this earth. For then, it will be too late for anyone to change their eternal outcome. Help us to influence all souls in need to turn their lives over to you for salvation’s sake. May faith always be found on earth, Dear Lord, in increasing numbers. In Jesus name we pray…Amen!
